Tell us about your blog?
Engaged Family Gaming has been around for a bout 7 years now. We cover both board games and video games from a family’s perspective. Our goal is to help parents find great games to play with their kids.
How did you get started in the board game hobby?
What board games are you enjoying right now?
Stephen: Right now my family is actually all about Dungeons and Dragons 5e (I love their thoughts on playing Dungeons and Dragons with Kids). We’re in the middle of several campaigns with different combinations of kids/friends and are having a blast.
Linda: In general I enjoy light games, right now Skyjo, This Game Goes to Eleven, and Ok Play.
What is your favorite family board game of all time?
What got you into blogging in the first place? What keeps you around?
If money and time were not an obstacle, what would you be doing right now?
Stephen: I would absolutely be running EFG full time. This is a passion of mine and if money were no object I would be able to throw all of my energy into it and make it much larger and more influential. I’d love that.
Linda: I would be working on developing curriculum resources to include more gamification to improve student engagement in skill practice and strategy reinforcement.
What is something that people would find surprising about you?
Stephen: I’ve been LARPing for almost 20 years. I love the feeling of getting out into the woods and pretending to be a hero for a weekend. It’s very cathartic.
Linda: That I played the flute for 14 years.
