Tell us about your blog?
Board Games For Learning was the product of a love of games, and a need.
How did you get started in the board game hobby?
Growing up, we always played games because my parents were gym teachers… Meaning we are all competitive. I even remember watching my grandparents party canasta after every holiday. As a teen, I started playing more complex games and after getting married, we did regular game nights with friends even when we were the only ones with a baby tag along.
What board games are you enjoying right now?
Five Crowns, lost cities, and corn hole (it counts. It has boards and it’s a game haha)
What is your favorite family board game of all time?
Oh man. I don’t really have a favorite. But I love Carcassonne And codenames. But lately my oldest loves five crowns and it has been a joy to watch her grow as a gamer so I have a soft spot for it too.
What board games are your favorite right now when you have an adult game night?
Probably ticket to ride Europe. Codenames if it’s not a gamer kind of group. Lost cities if it’s just my husband. OR power grid with experienced gamers.
What got you into blogging in the first place? What keeps you around?
It’s a natural extension of my degree in education and adolescent development. Even if I can’t be in the traditional classroom, I have the ability to not just help my own kids but also influence how parents and teachers approach education creatively! (I love her thoughts on choosing a game to teach a concept)
If money and time were not an obstacle, what would you be doing right now?
Traveling. Or opening up a game cafe. Or both.
What is something that people would find surprising about you?
Before you go…
